MY MOM
Mothers are great,
Even though they make you carry seventy tons of freight.
My mom is the best,
Even though she makes me prepare for a giant bunch of tests.
She gives me the best hugs,
She lets me wear shoes on her rugs.
She gives me almost everything I crave,
Once she knows that I have been very brave.
My mom loves my brothers,
Even though I don’t,
And I care for her as much as she cares for me!

George Washington Carver
George Washington Carver was born on 1861 near Diamond Grove, Montana. He died on January 5, 1943 in Tuskegee, Alabama. He was an American agricultural chemist, agronomist, and experimenter with many things. He figured out many ways to do many things with farm products.
Carver was a son to a slave woman owned by Moses Carver. After the Civil War, this man realized that all his slaves were gone, except for one, a child by the name of George Washington Carver. He had a slight sense of color and he liked to draw and paint. After spending much time on his art, he went on to education. To support his family, he had many occupations, such as a household worker, hotel cook, laundryman, farm laborer, and homesteader.
Later in his life, after education, this man began working with crops. He developed more than 300 ways to use peanut butter. He also genetically crossed many plants, creating new, very unusual foods. He was a very amazing man and he became one of the most famous African American scientists.
